Encouragement
through play
Better days are on their way.

Encouragement is at the heart of my approach to therapy. Let me help you and your kids discover how to overcome frustration & discouragement and live your best lives.
Hello,
I am Alexandria Scalone and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington State. I specialize in providing play therapy for children, teens, and their families who are experiencing conflict, explosive emotions, and difficulties getting along. I have experience supporting families in learning concrete social, emotional, and behavioral skills that help regulate moods and create pathways for communication.
I do my best work with kids who identify as creative and highly imaginative and adults navigating the stressors of parenthood. I am a LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming therapist.
I currently have availability in my schedule for either in-person appointments in Seattle, WA, or telehealth appointments.
What is play therapy?
-
Connect
Kids don’t talk, which is why therapy is bogus for them. Playing is a kid’s job. Parents can cooperate with kids through playing!
-
understanding
Everyone wants to be seen, heard, and known. Deep listening and reflecting a child’s behaviors lets them know you get them.

Abreaction
Kids often feel much better after acting things out through play. Even older kids enjoy drawing and gaming most of the time. Abreaction includes reliving and mastering the experience itself. This is an indirect way to communicate and role play real life problems.
